Abstract

Objective: In the present article, an attempt has been made to critique the professionalization of management in the public sector of Iran, taking into account the principle of protection of public interests. Method: This research is a theoretical analysis and an attempt has been made to analyze and critique the professionalization process in the public sector of Iran, taking into account the environmental conditions and the resulting requirements. Findings: The results of the analysis show that three coalitions can be proposed regarding public management: 1) Proponents of professionalization of public management; 2) De-advocates of government management; And 3) proponents of modified professionalism. The findings of this analysis also indicate that according to the six stages of professionalization of jobs, professionalization of public administration in Iran has started in the 1340s in Iran and is going through its evolutionary stages very slowly. Conclusion: The professionalization analysis of management in the public sector of Iran has been done with the approach of protecting the public interest. This analysis was able to emphasize the need for modified professionalization by aggregating the pros and cons of management professionalism.
