Abstract

This research aims to identify the variables affecting public-private partnership (PPP) success. After extensive exploration among experts related to the country’s service infrastructure, 25 persons were selected and invited to answer the questionnaire, which was developed on the basis of relevant theoretical and empirical literature. The subjects were asked, first, to rank the importance of each research variable and, second, to indicate (based on their own experience) to what extent those variables existed in public-private partnership projects in Iran. Using Cronbach’s alpha, the reliability of the questionnaire was computed and it amounted to 0.934. To evaluate and rank the degrees and importance of the identified variables, Shannon Entropy technique was used. The results of this analysis show that trust between partners is the most, and public sector’s inability to restructure appropriate to such partnership is the least important variables.
