Feldstein-Horioka Hipotezinin Ekonomik Küreselleşme İle Yeniden Ele Alınması: Gelişmekte Olan Ülkelerden Kanıtlar

Abstract

Çalışma, literatürde Feldstein ve Horioka (1980) bulgularının sermaye hareketliliği altında yatırım-tasarruf ilişkisinin teorik yapı ile çeliştiğine dair paradoksal durumu, ekonomik küreselleşme çerçevesinde tekrar ele almaktadır. Bu çalışmada ekonomik küreselleşme, ülkelerin küresel iktisadi sisteme entegrasyon düzeyini göstermesi bağlamında sermaye hareketliliğinin ötesinde yurtiçi tasarruf ve yatırım arasındaki ilişkiyi daha iyi modelleyebileceği düşünülmektedir. Çalışmada 13 gelişmekte olan ülke için 1981-2020 dönemi yıllık veriler kullanılarak uzun dönemli ilişki Westerlund ve Edgerton (2007) bootstrap panel eş bütünleşme ile Westerlund ve Westerlund ve Edgerton (2008) yapısal kırılmalı panel eş bütünleşme; Eberhardt ve Teal (2010) AMG tahmincisi ve Yilanci ve Gorus (2021) tarafından önerilen Panel Fourier Toda-Yamamato nedensellik testi kullanılmıştır. Sonuçlar gelişmekte olan ülkelerde yatırımların tasarruflara bağımlılığının ülkelere göre değişiklik göstermesine rağmen yatırımların tasarruf tutma katsayısının gelişmiş ülkelere nispeten düşük olduğu görülmektedir. Ayrıca bulgular, yatırımların gelişmekte olan ülkelerin küresel kapitalist iktisadi sisteme entegrasyon derecesi ile anlamlı ilişkinin olmadığını, FH hipotezinde yer alan çelişkiyi ekonomik küreselleşme çerçevesinde de açıklanamayacağını göstermektedir.
