Emprendimiento público y privado en la configuración del transporte urgente español

Abstract

Este artículo estudia la evolución histórica del transporte urgente en España. Sus orígenes se remontan a la década de 1970, cuando la progresiva integración del mercado y el crecimiento del comercio minorista alentaron la demanda de servicios de transporte y correo de mayor valor añadido. Desde entonces, su crecimiento ha sido notable y ha entrañado cambios impulsados por la globalización, la transformación digital y el desarrollo económico español. El sector está formado por dos tipos de actores de naturaleza diferente: el operador postal público y las empresas privadas. Nuestra investigación explora la forma en que se produjo la respuesta emprendedora de ambos actores, analiza por qué el actor peor posicionado, las empresas privadas, precedieron en su iniciativa al operador postal público, y pone de manifiesto cómo ambas respuestas han configurado la trayectoria del sector hasta la actualidad.
