La sociedad cooperativa: fórmula empresarial idónea para el desarrollo rural endógeno y sostenible

Abstract

La situación actual de las áreas rurales de los países industrializados se encuentra, en la actualidad, ante diversos problemas derivados tanto de la intensificación de la agricultura, como de la falta de iniciativas de una población local, en muchos casos, reducida. En este contexto, existen zonas rurales altamente explotadas, otras en situación de abandono y un amplio abanico de situaciones intermedias. La aplicación de estrategias de desarrollo centralizadas y normalizadas no resultan de aplicación, siendo necesaria la búsqueda de soluciones concretas a cada caso particular. Así, las actuales políticas de desarrollo se basan en el seguimiento de estrategias de carácter endógeno y sostenible, de modo que el carácter local de los agentes y su implicación en el proceso se convierten en una de las claves fundamentales de su éxito. En este sentido, el objetivo de este trabajo es el estudio de las posibilidades de la sociedad cooperativa para convertirse en el agente empresarial que mejor se adapta a estas circunstancias, tanto por su carácter de empresa de participación como por su tradición en las áreas rurales.......Current situation of the rural areas in the industrialized countries is faced to several problems that comes from agriculture intensification and initiatives lack of the local population. In this context, there are rural zones highly exploited, others in abandonment situation, and a wider intermediate situations. With this framework, they are not right the centralized and standard development strategies, it is necessary to look for solutions for each particular case. In this context, co-operative business, as participation company with tradition in the rural areas rural, becomes in the economic partner that better it fit to population necessities in the rural communities to contribute to reach their economic and social objectives.
