Drought And The Multiplier

Abstract

The effects of a 20 per cent across-the-board drought-year reduction in farm output upon G.N.P., imports and the balance of payments are estimated via an econometric mode of the Australian economy. The effects do not appear to be overly large and taper off rapidly in succeeding years.
