Abstract

Needs can be spiritual, non-economic materials, and economic materials. The individual well-being variable depends on tangible and intangible factors. Economics studies man’s challenge in satisfying infinite economic needs with finite production. Addresses the required choices. All action is generated by a passion and guided by reason. Action is preceded by calculation. Happiness is a state of well-being that transcends the scope of economic reason. The individual’s action in defending collective interests is the action that optimizes the defense of his own self-interest. Economics and politics can be conceived as self-poetic social systems formed from the functional differentiation of the social system. Political decisions on the allocation of economic resources bring results in the social sphere. Decisions on production imply the qualitative social perception of the result in well-being. Development cannot generate happiness, but it provides an indispensable basis.
