Abstract

There is no gainsaying that governments around the world are grappling with rising climate risks. As concerns around sustainability increase, governments and policy makers are looking for solutions to the crisis, and have found an ally in institutional investors, in particular Pension Funds. Given their size, financial might, and the long-term nature of their investments, many have looked to pension funds for leadership in the field of socially responsible investing (Puaschunder, 2016) and these institutions have heeded the call to integrate sustainable investing principles in their investment decisions.
