Abstract

The unfolding U.S-Israel and Iran war is not a distant regional conflict. It is a systemic shock to the global economy. Its impact on global economic growth is neither linear nor uniform. The war's economic chokepoints are tightened around energy markets volatilities, inflation dynamics, and drastic structural disruptions to trade and investment globally. All these three dynamics were to be expected when US and Israel attacked Iran on the 28 February 2026.
