Critical development areas towards Africa’s industrialisation efforts

Abstract

Africa must foster sustainable industrialisation by expanding clean energy, upgrading infrastructure, deepening AfCFTA integration, investing in skills and innovation, promoting eco-industrial zones, and ensuring inclusive policies. Coordinated finance, governance, and regional cooperation are essential to align growth with environmental resilience and social equity. So long as Africa remains a raw materials exporter to the rest of the world, it will industrialise. For the continent to grow industrially, it must ensure that key drivers of industrialisation are identified and implemented. Below are some core drivers which can produce sustainable industrialisation for the continent.
