Abstract

Two general characteristics of the university teacher?s activity are introduced: ?leadership index? and ?harmony index?. The former determines relative efficiency of the teacher?s work ?deep down?, i.e. in the most effective for the teacher direction of the work, while the latter determines relative efficiency of the teacher?s work ?in breadth?, i.e. the degree of his/her universality, balance of the work. It is proved that these characteristics due to their commonness can be used to create a competitive environment inside one university as well as between different universities irrespective of their character
