Abstract

The article reveals the contents of the activities of student self-government institution, showing its relationship to educational and scientific activities, attention to forms, methods and structure. The state of the modern model of student self-government and its essential features in Mordovian State University named after N.P. Ogareva. Student self-government is a key element in managing extra-curricular activity of the university. The existence of structures of student self-government, with rights and responsibilities for the work that allows you to meet the challenges of extra-curricular activities most effectively. From the rational organization and efficient management of the domain of higher education depends the formation and development of qualities that help students adjust to the professional activities, both inside and outside the university and meet the contemporary socio-economic requirements.
