Abstract

The concept of the “green economy†gains an increasing public response. It is actively discussed by scientific community, experts, politicians and non-governmental organizations. The concept “green economy†does not replace the concept of “sustainable development†. The term “sustainable development†was adopted from management of natural resources to the global ecology. Gradually such theories as “limits of growth†and “sustainable growth†began to appear. Implementation of the policy of “sustainable growth†is inextricably related to the formation of a “sustainable society†. The basic ideas of these theories are presented in the most complete way by Mr. L. Brown in his “Building of a sustainable society†.
