Corona-Krise trifft auf besorgtes Ruhrgebiet

Abstract

Das Ruhrgebiet ist bekannt für seine starke lokale Verankerung und dafür, dass seine Bewohner in schwierigen Zeiten füreinander einstehen. Mit Blick auf die Sorgen und das allgemeine Vertrauen zeichnet diese Untersuchung für die Zeit vor der Corona-Krise allerdings ein gegensätzliches Bild: Die Bevölkerung des Ruhrgebiets ist in vielerlei Hinsicht verunsichert und beurteilt das Verhalten ihrer Mitmenschen auffallend pessimistisch. Der Befund bleibt auch dann signifikant, wenn man berücksichtigt, dass im Ruhrgebiet mehr Menschen mit geringem Einkommen leben.
