Netzwerkeffekte in der Software-Industrie: Eine Analyse der empirischen Literatur

Abstract

Es wird vielfach vermutet, daß die Software-Industrie von starken Netzwerkeffekten geprägt ist. Doch wie hoch sind die Netzwerkeffekte wirklich? Für die Messung der Netzwerkeffekte bietet sich der hedonische Preisansatz an. Zwei Anwendungen des hedonischen Preisansatzes in der Software-Industrie werden beschrieben. Anschlie(3end werden drei Ansätze diskutiert, die Reputationen und installierte Basis, variierende Bedeutung der Charakteristika und Einkommen berücksichtigen. Abschließend werden die Vorund Nachteile der bisherigen Ansätze diskutiert und mögliche Erweiterungen skizziert.
