Abstract

Nos travaux de recherche s'articulent autour de la question suivante : la théorie des ressources (Resource Based Theory ou RBT) est-elle universelle ou contingente ? Cette question de recherche vise à questionner les fondements de RBT qui a récemment acquis le statut de théorie détautologisée en la confrontant à un terrain d'application particulier : le marché « Base Of the Pyramid » (BOP) en cherchant à le catégoriser en fonction de son évolution depuis la proposition inaugurale de Prahalad et Hart (2002). Nous partons en effet du constat que les principaux travaux portant sur RBT s'inscrivent dans une logique de type Darwinienne au sens de Fauchart & Gruber (2011). Dans cette communication, nous reprenons brièvement les principaux textes fondateurs de la RBT, les étapes successives qui lui ont permis d'acquérir le statut de théorie détautologisée et faisons un premier inventaire des travaux RBT s'inscrivant en environnement BOP. Dans une logique d'effectuation (Sarasvathy, 2001), nous mobilisons le concept de « bricolage entrepreneurial » développé par Baker et Nelson (2005), lui-même inspiré de Lévi-Strauss (1967) pour analyser comment des entrepreneurs sociaux sont ainsi capables de « créer à partir de rien » ou avec « ce qui est à portée de main », en mobilisant des capacités et des ressources spécifiques à cet environnement, un besoin, un produit ou un service et d'y répondre durablement en s'inscrivant dans une démarche d'accessibilité aux plus déshérités. Notre dispositif de recherche s'articule autour de l'étude de cas d'une entreprise sociale qui a créé en milieu « Bottom Of the Pyramid » (BOP), au Cambodge un réseau de kiosques à eau. A ce stade, notre contribution permet de mettre en évidence le manque de travaux RBT en environnement BOP et de contribuer à développer ce nouveau cadre d'analyse tout en le catégorisant. Nous pensons également que le concept de « bricolage entrepreneurial » peut s'insérer dans l'aménagement à venir de RBT en particulier sur les aspects organisationnels individuels et collectifs.
