Inversión Extranjera Directa en Colombia: Evolución reciente y marco normativo

Abstract

En este artículo se describe la evolución de la Inversión Extranjera Directa (IED) en Colombia durante las últimas dos décadas y se sitúa esta evolución en el contexto internacional. Se encuentra que durante los últimos años la IED en el país ha registrado una tendencia creciente, convirtiéndose en la principal fuente de financiación, y por lo tanto en un determinante importante, de la cuenta corriente, de la cuenta de capital y de la oferta y demanda de divisas en el mercado cambiario. Dada la importancia adquirida por la IED también se presenta el marco regulatorio de esta actividad en Colombia.
