Österreich 2025 – Perspektiven für Österreichs Landwirtschaft bis 2025

Abstract

Die künftige Entwicklung von Agrarstruktur oder Konsumverhalten dürfte nicht grundlegend von jener in den letzten Jahren abweichen. So wird der Rückgang der Zahl landwirtschaftlicher Betriebe und der Beschäftigung in der Landwirtschaft ebenso anhalten wie die Änderung der Verbrauchsgewohnheiten. Der Absatz von Nahrungsmitteln wird steigen, und zwar auch in jenen Bereichen, in denen zuletzt eine Abnahme des Pro-Kopf-Verbrauchs beobachtet wurde. Österreichs Landwirtschaft wird am erwarteten Marktwachstum teilhaben können. Allerdings ist nicht sicher, ob die heimische Produktionsmenge gesteigert werden kann, weil der Verlust an produktiven Agrarflächen rasch zunimmt. Angesichts der tendenziellen Knappheit der für die Landwirtschaft aus Strukturgründen wichtigen öffentlichen Mittel müssen die Betriebe verstärkt neue Einkommensquellen erschließen und/oder die Kosten senken. Kleinen Betrieben in Gebieten mit ungünstigen agrarischen Produktionsbedingungen bieten auch in Zukunft die Forstwirtschaft, die Direktvermarktung, der Tourismus und außerlandwirtschaftliche Tätigkeiten zusätzliche Potentiale.
