Abstract

[eng] In the last twenty years the French society has been affected by radical transformations which should be taken into account when studying the links between economy and society. During the period of very rapid economic growth, the massive enrichment has been the condition of social changes, but a direct causality link could seldom be identified. The transformation of authority relations was not predictable. Inflation has have a definitive influence on social structures ; what about desinflation ? Demographic movements such as the falling of marriage rate or the increasing life expectancy, the causes of which are not known, have economic consequences. One can therefore wonder whether social changes have more influence on the economy than the opposite.
