Abstract

[eng] Is there a crisis or strengthening of trade-unionism ? On the one hand, the disaffection of members and militants is evident ; on the other, there is a more and more pronounced participation of trade-unions in the management of various economic institutions, and, above all, a unanimous recognition of trade-unions' legitimacy. The observed disaffection is as much due to transformations in the production system as to societal developments : social structures, ways of life, ideologies, ... The mushrooming of « social » elections gives trade-unions new functions and confirms their legitimacy.
