Possessing a patrimony, ensured income, free time and good health, men and women in their sixties and seventies form 20 % of the population. They are good clients too, mainly for foodstuffs, real estate and services. Elderly people have an essential economic and affective part to play, being the key-stone of their kindship. They are very active in the informal economy and in voluntary associations, in their neighborhoods and in their towns. They are the new « leisure class » and must be recognized and respected as such.
