Ahorro y gasto en una economía heterogénea: El rol macroeconómico del mercado de alimentos

Abstract

“Los modelos de "Keynesianismo Hidráulico" han dejado de tener la primacía que gozaron por tanto tiempo en los libros de texto de macroeconomía. La dificultad para comprender a través de ellos los sucesos de la economía occidental en los últimos anos ha conducido a desarrollar nuevos modelos en los que las consideraciones monetarias y la desagregación de la economía según el grado de transabilidad de los bienes recibe gran importancia. El presente trabajo constituye un intento de retomar la discusión sobre la relevancia del esquema keynesiano para nuestras economías desde una nueva perspectiva, en la cual la desagregación del sector real responde al propósito de destacar el papel de fenómenos tales como la heterogeneidad estructural, la pugna distributiva y la multiplicidad de mecanismos de ajuste en la dinámica macroeconómica de corto plazo. La atención a la dinámica de los distintos sectores productivos y grupos sociales, manteniendo la perspectiva del equilibrio general, permite ir más allá de los modelos keynesianos tradicionales. Para exponer estas ideas, el trabajo que se presenta consta de tres capítulos. En el primero se bosquejan las consideraciones analíticas que sustentan el enfoque propuesto de análisis macroeconómico. En el segundo se describen algunas de las características y conexiones básicas de nuestra estructura social y productiva mediante el análisis de una matriz de contabilidad social para Colombia en 1980. En el último capítulo se integran los anteriores elementos analíticos y descriptivos en la formulación y estimación de un modelo computable de equilibrio general que permite acercarse a la comprensión de la dinámica de una economía como la colombiana.”
