Efectos de la apertura comercial sobre la producción manufacturera en Colombia: una aproximación cuantitativa (1975-2007)

Abstract

En este artículo se analiza el efecto de la apertura comercial sobre la producción manufacturera, y se detecta que este proceso causó un cambio estructural en las exportaciones e importaciones industriales, y creó una diferenciación en el comportamiento de estas, después de la década de los noventa. Por tanto, con el ejercicio econométrico de datos panel fue posible deducir que el impacto sobre la producción manufacturera fue superior después de la apertura comparado con los anos anteriores, y esto permitió concluir que dadas las condiciones de desindustrialización ya existentes, la apertura contribuyó a profundizar este descenso, evidenciando una menor producción en los subsectores que generan un alto valor agregado.
