Abstract

Este ensayo propone un marco analítico para la medición no paramétrica del cambio técnico a través del residuo de Solow bajo los supuestos tradicionales de competencia perfecta, retornos constantes, optimización de largo plazo de las firmas, y cambio técnico no incorporado. La medición de la productividad total de los factores (PTF) utiliza índices Translog para 94 sectores manufactureros, según la clasificación CIIU, durante 1970 - 1995. La aplicación toma en cuenta la corrección por mejoras en la calidad de los insumos. De esta forma se deja abierta la posibilidad de hacer ajustes al residuo cuando se elimina uno o varios de dichos supuestos. La medición de la oferta de factores se realiza con base en las hipótesis tradicionales. Por otra parte, se propone un ejercicio de inferencia para la medición de las tasas económicas de depreciación por sector industrial y la inferencia de precios de alquiles del capital por tipo de activo, todo con el fin de obtener medidas más rigurosas de las series de acervo de capital fijo.
