Abstract

Die letzte Amtszeit von Christine Lagarde endet im Oktober 2027. Presseberichten zufolge erwägt sie einen früheren Amtsverzicht. Als mögliche Kandidatinnen und Kandidaten für ihre Nachfolge an der Spitze der EZB werden derzeit vor allem vier Personen diskutiert: der frühere spanische Notenbankchef Pablo Hernández de Cos, der frühere niederländische Zentralbankchef Klaas Knot, der aktuelle Bundesbankpräsident Joachim Nagel und das deutsche EZB-Direktoriumsmitglied Isabel Schnabel. Dieser Policy Brief befasst sich mit der Frage, wie sich die vier genannten Kandidatinnen und Kandidaten geldpolitisch einordnen lassen und ob sie eher als "Taube" oder eher als "Falke" eingeordnet werden können. Methodisch kommen KI-gestützte Analysen öffentlicher Reden zur Anwendung.
