Europäischer Tarifbericht des WSI - 2017/2018: Lohnentwicklung und Ungleichheitsdynamiken

Abstract

Die Belebung der europäischen Konjunktur spiegelt sich zunehmend auch in einem stärkeren Lohnwachstum wider. Aufgrund der ebenfalls anziehenden Preisentwicklung wuchsen die Reallöhne in der Europäischen Union mit 0,4 % (2017) und voraus-sichtlich 1,0 % im Jahr 2018 aber weiterhin nur sehr moderat. In vielen Ländern wird damit der Verteilungsspielraum - der sich aus der Entwicklung von Preisen und Produktivität ergibt - nicht voll ausgeschöpft. Die Verteilungswirkungen der Lohnpolitik stehen im Fokus des diesjährigen europäischen Tarifberichts, der die Rolle von Lohnquote und Lohnspreizung für gesamtgesellschaftliche Ungleichheitsdynamiken beleuchtet. Um Europa auf einen nachhaltigen und inklusiven Wachstumspfad zu bringen und die Ungleichheit zu bekämpfen, sind eine Stärkung der Arbeitsmarktinstitutionen und eine Erhöhung der Tarifbindung unerlässlich.
