Abstract

Immer mehr Unternehmen in Deutschland verpflichten ihre Beschäftigten wieder zur Arbeit im Büro. Diese sogenannten Return-to-Office-Initiativen (RTO) sorgen vielerorts für Unmut - denn Homeoffice ist für viele Menschen längst mehr als ein Arbeitsmodell: Es ermöglicht die Vereinbarkeit von Beruf und Familie. Dieser Policy Brief untersucht, wie weit RTO-Initiativen in Deutschland verbreitet sind und welche Gründe es dafür gibt - offiziell wie inoffiziell. Außerdem beleuchtet er die Folgen für die Beschäftigten: Wie zufrieden sind sie mit der Rückkehr ins Büro? Und welche Auswirkungen hat diese auf ihr Wohlbefinden und ihre Arbeitszufriedenheit? Grundlage der Analyse ist die WSI-Erwerbspersonenbefragung vom November und Dezember 2025.
