Wähler: Macht der geburtenstarken Jahrgänge?

Abstract

Im Rahmen einer empirischen Längsschnittstudie (von 1980-2004) wurde ein Sample der Hamburger Schulabschlusskohorte 1979 in bisher 16 Befragungswellen (etwa jede 1 1/2 Jahre) kontinuierlich über Familie, Erwerbsarbeit und politische Partizipation im Lebenslauf befragt. Der Artikel stellt ausgewählte Befunde zur Parteipräferenz (klassische Sonntagsfrage) und zur Identifizierung von gesellschaftlichen Problemlagen im Untersuchungszeitraum zur Diskussion. Dabei konzentrieren wir uns insbesondere auf die Frage, inwieweit dieses Sample als Repräsentanten der geburtenstarken Jahrgänge und der Kinder der bildungsexpansion von politischen und parteipolitischen Periodeneffekten mitgeprägt wurde bzw. selbst parteipolitische Konstellationen und Entwicklungen mitprägt bzw. mitprägen wird.
