Die Regierung Shinzô Abe 3.0: Japans Außenpolitik wendet sich verstärkt nach Europa und Asien

Abstract

Shinzô Abes Regierung ist die am längsten amtierende in der japanischen Nachkriegsgeschichte und sorgt damit für eine unbekannte Kontinuität in der Politik des Landes. Seit Abe 2012 das Amt des Premierministers übernahm, konzentriert er seine Agenda auf das ambitionierte Wirtschaftsprogramm 'Abenomics', auf Reformen in der Sicherheitspolitik und vor allem auf eine sichtbarere, aktive Außenpolitik. Sein Ziel ist es, Japan vor Isolation zu bewahren und als Akteur global zu platzieren. Die von den USA ausgehenden Unwägbarkeiten in der Handels- und Sicherheitspolitik, Chinas Streben nach einer Vormachtstellung in Asien und die Veränderungen im internationalen System zwingen Abe in seiner letzten Amtszeit zur Umorientierung. Seine Außenpolitik wendet sich nun verstärkt in Richtung Europa und Asien.
