Die zweite Sharon-Regierung: Vorprogrammierte Stagnation?

Abstract

Knapp einen Monat nach den Parlamentswahlen zur 16. Knesset am 28. Januar 2003 hat der alte und neue israelische Premierminister Ariel Sharon seine neue Regierung vorgestellt. Ihm ist es nicht gelungen, eine Regierung der nationalen Einheit unter Beteiligung der Arbeitspartei zu bilden. Sharon steht nun einer rechtsnationalen Koalition aus Likud, Shinui, Nationalreligiöser Partei und Nationaler Union vor. Zusammensetzung, Koalitionsvereinbarungen und Regierungsansprache lassen nicht erwarten, daß von dieser Koalition neue Impulse für den Friedensprozeß ausgehen werden. Zu befürchten ist vielmehr eine Eskalation der militärischen Maßnahmen zur Unterdrückung der Intifada sowie eine Politik, die durch die Ausweitung des Siedlungsbaus mittelfristig eine Zwei-Staaten-Lösung effektiv verhindern wird. Auch eine Verbesserung der wirtschaftlichen Lage Israels ist unwahrscheinlich. (SWP-aktuell / SWP)
