Foresight: Globaler Wettlauf um Gesundheitsfachkräfte aus Afrika

Abstract

Pretoria, 12. Februar 2024: Während eines Festakts unterzeichnen der deutsche Gesundheitsminister und sein südafrikanischer Kollege das Abkommen 'Together We Care' über die Ausbildung und Entsendung von 20000 südafrikanischen Alten- und Krankenpflegerinnen und -pflegern nach Deutschland. Dieses Abkommen ist Teil einer umfassenden Kooperationsvereinbarung. So sollen in mehreren südafrikanischen Städten Ausbildungszentren für medizinisches Fachpersonal aufgebaut werden. Zudem enthält die Vereinbarung Zusagen über die Unterstützung für ein duales Ausbildungssystem und für Visaerleichterungen. In den Medien wird das Ereignis ausgiebig kommentiert und überwiegend positiv bewertet. Die FAZ veröffentlicht einen Leitartikel mit dem Titel 'Deutschland beweist, dass es im globalen Wettbewerb bestehen kann', die taz begrüßt den Vertrag mit der Meldung 'Deutschland bleibt Einwanderungsland'.
