Bundeswehr und Weltraum: Das Weltraumoperationszentrum als Einstieg in multidimensionale Operationen

Abstract

Mit der Einrichtung einer Operationszentrale für Luft- und Weltraum, des Air and Space Operations Centre (ASOC), führt die Bundeswehr mehrere Fähigkeiten in einer zentralen Einrichtung zusammen. Was im ersten Augenblick nach Science Fiction klingt, ist eine notwendige Reaktion auf die wachsende militärische Bedeutung des Weltraums als operative Dimension. Weltraumoperationen werden dadurch zwar nicht über Nacht zum Alltag. Mittel- bis langfristig bietet das neue Zentrum aber Möglichkeiten der multidimensionalen Integration, die sich als Innovationstreiber für die Streitkräfte insgesamt erweisen können. Um dieses Potential auszuschöpfen, sind weitere personelle und strukturelle Anpassungen notwendig.
