Frieden, Sicherheit und Krisenbewältigung: Deutsche Prioritäten im VN-Sicherheitsrat 2011/2012

Abstract

Seit dem 1. Januar 2011 ist Deutschland nichtständiges Mitglied im Weltsicherheitsrat. Gemeinsam mit Portugal, Indien, Kolumbien und Südafrika wurde es für die Jahre 2011 und 2012 in das wichtigste Gremium der Vereinten Nationen gewählt. Während der zweijährigen Mitgliedschaft hat die deutsche Politik in besonderer Weise Verantwortung für Frieden und internationale Sicherheit. Individuelle Handlungsspielräume werden der Bundesregierung jedoch kaum offenstehen. Denn die deutsche Agenda wird zum Großteil bestimmt werden von den in der VN-Charta definierten Aufgaben des Rats, den bekannten Krisenherden der Weltpolitik und den sich abzeichnenden Krisen. In Anbetracht dieser Rahmenbedingungen gilt es, die eigenen Ziele stärker zu priorisieren und strategischer auszurichten
