Regenbogen über Taiwan: Asiens Nummer eins bei der Ehe für alle

Abstract

Am 26. Oktober 2019 nahmen rund 200 000 Menschen am 'Taiwan LGBT 2019 Pride' in Taipeh teil. Der größte Pride Asiens stand in diesem Jahr unter dem Motto 'Together, Make Taiwan Better'. Gefeiert wurde, dass Taiwan am 17. Mai 2019, dem Internationalen Tag gegen Homo-, Bi-, Inter- und Transphobie, als erstes Land in Asien die Ehe für alle eingeführt hat. Deutschland und die EU sollten vor diesem Hintergrund den Austausch mit Taiwan suchen, um LGBTI*-Rechte in Asien effektiver zu fördern. Ein Blick in die asiatischen Nachbarstaaten zeigt, dass dort zum Teil ähnliche Hürden bestehen, wie Taiwan sie auf dem Weg zur Ehe für alle überwunden hat.
