Abstract

Nach seinem ersten Treffen mit dem neuen Nato-Generalsekretär de Hoop Scheffer bekräftigte US-Außenminister Colin Powell die Entschlossenheit der amerikanischen Regierung, die Stärke der in Europa stationierten US-Truppen zu reduzieren und eine noch ungenannte Zahl von Militärbasen zu schließen. Wie realistisch ist eine grund-legende Neuordnung der weltweiten Stützpunktstruktur und welche Auswirkungen hätte sie für die amerikanischen Streitkräfte? (SWP Studie / SWP)
