Die Renaissance des politischen Islams in Indonesien: Der Erlass gegen die Ahmadiyah: Anfang vom Ende interreligiöser Toleranz?

Abstract

Von den hiesigen Medien wie der Politik weitgehend unbeachtet ist in Indonesien der einstmals tolerante und moderate Islam durch die De-facto-Aufhebung des in der Verfassung garantierten Prinzips der religiösen Toleranz weiter ins Hintertreffen geraten. Mit seinen 220 Millionen Einwohnern, die zu 90 Prozent muslimischen Glaubens sind, galt Indonesien mit seiner in religiöser Hinsicht neutralen Verfassung seit dem Übergang zur Demokratie 1998 als Musterbeispiel für die Vereinbarkeit von Islam und Demokratie. Wenngleich von einer Islamisierung der Politik noch keine Rede sein kann, weisen zunehmend Indikatoren darauf hin, dass das Bild eines toleranten und offenen Islams in Indonesien mehr und mehr Risse bekommt
