Das Gipfeltreffen in Ostasien: Finanzpolitische Kooperation und intraregionale Verflechtungen

Abstract

Am 14. Dezember 2005 findet in der malaysischen Hauptstadt Kuala Lumpur das erste ostasiatische Gipfeltreffen statt. Es ist ein weiterer Schritt zur Vertiefung der regionalen wirtschaftlichen Zusammenarbeit, bei der in den vergangenen Jahren die finanzpolitische Kooperation stark an Bedeutung gewonnen hat. Dabei hat sich ein überraschendes, in Europa häufig verkanntes Niveau monetärer Zusammenarbeit entwi-ckelt. Zudem konzentriert sich der Außenhandel der Länder Ostasiens immer stärker auf die Region. Obwohl eine Vielzahl von Fragen - vor allem das Konkurrenzverhältnis zwischen China und Japan - ungelöst sind, ist die Bereitschaft zur Vertiefung der Integration in Ostasien unübersehbar.
