Wahl gewonnen - Macht zerronnen? Ahmadinejads Machtbasis nach den Parlamentswahlen

Abstract

Bei den Parlamentswahlen im März erreichten Irans Konservative insgesamt zwar die Mehrheit, doch nur ein gutes Drittel der Abgeordneten des neuen Parlaments dürfte voll hinter Präsident Ahmadinejad stehen. Wegen seiner Wirtschafts- und Personalpolitik sind viele seiner Anhänger aus dem Lager der »Prinzipientreuen« von ihm abgerückt. Die Wahl seines Widersachers Ali Larijani zum Parlamentspräsidenten im Mai 2008 markiert einen ersten Höhepunkt der Auseinandersetzung im konservativen Lager im Hinblick auf die Präsidentschaftswahlen im Juni 2009. Ahmadinejad versucht, seine Position mit populistischen Wirtschaftsmaßnahmen und Personalrochaden zu stärken. Seine Konkurrenten hingegen wollen sich mit Sachverstand bei der immer unzufriedeneren Bevölkerung profilieren, die unbequemen Sanktionen abschütteln und Iran vom Paria-Image befreien. Ihre Bereitschaft, über das Atomprogramm ohne Vorbedingungen zu verhandeln, ist überzeugender als die Ahmadinejads und sollte vom Westen im Interesse der Entspannung genutzt werden
