Aufbruch oder kosmetische Reformen in Pittsburgh? Die Chancen für eine umfassende Neuordnung der internationalen Finanzmärkte

Abstract

Gut ein Jahr nach dem Zusammenbruch der US-Investmentbank Lehman Brothers werden sich im amerikanischen Pittsburgh die Staats- und Regierungschefs der G20-Länder treffen. Die für viele Beobachter überraschend schnell eingetretene Erholung der Weltwirtschaft lenkt die Aufmerksamkeit von der akuten Krisenbekämpfung auf die langfristige Reform der internationalen Finanzmärkte. Trotz einer entschlossenen Rhetorik sind auf diesem Gebiet noch keine entscheidenden Fortschritte zu vermelden. Es hat den Anschein, als ob auch diese Finanzkrise nicht zu einer umfassenden Neuordnung der internationalen Finanzmärkte führen wird. Wichtige Fragen, etwa Maßnahmen zur Eindämmung globaler Ungleichgewichte, stehen nicht im Mittelpunkt des Gipfels von Pittsburgh
