Der Fall Iran im VN-Sicherheitsrat? Deutsche Perspektiven und Ziele

Abstract

Gemeinsam mit seinen Partnern strebt Deutschland eine Befassung des Sicherheitsrats der Vereinten Nationen mit dem Fall des iranischen Atomprogramms an. Dies würde erneut Dynamik in den jahrelangen Streit um Teherans Nuklearprojekte bringen. Ziel ist es, der Forderung nach Suspendierung der Urananreicherung in Iran auf der höchsten internationalen Ebene gebührend Nachdruck zu verleihen. Zugleich sollte eine Eskalation möglichst vermieden werden. Dies kann nur gelingen, wenn der europäische Zusammenhalt ebenso gewahrt bleibt wie der transatlantische. Was konkret wird Iran vorgeworfen? Welche Ziele verfolgten Frankreich, Großbritannien und Deutschland, die EU-3, in ihren Verhandlungen in Iran und was haben sie erreicht? Wie soll es jetzt im VN-Sicherheitsrat weitergehen? (SWP-aktuell / SWP)
