Mexiko - ein neuer politischer Aufbruch: Unklare Perspektiven der Präsidentschaft von Andrés Manuel López Obrador

Abstract

Mit einem Erdrutschsieg hat Andrés Manuel López Obrador – genannt AMLO – im dritten Anlauf das Präsidentenamt Mexikos erlangt. 53 Prozent der Stimmen gingen an ihn. Doch fuhr er nicht nur persönlich ein überragendes Ergebnis ein. Das Parteienbündnis, das unter Führung seines Movimiento de Regeneración Nacional (Morena) angetreten war, errang in beiden Kammern des Parlaments eine klare Mehrheit. Damit könnten die von AMLO angekündigten Reformen ohne parlamentarische Widerstände umgesetzt werden. Geht es nach dem neuen Präsidenten und seiner Anhängerschaft, steht Mexiko vor einer Zeitenwende. In vielen Politikbereichen soll ein grundlegender Kurswechsel erfolgen. Doch aus den angekündigten Einzelmaßnahmen ergibt sich bislang keine klare Richtung. Einiges deutet auf einen stärkeren sozialen Ausgleich, manches erinnert an Muster der Vergangenheit.
