Abstract

Chinesische Staatsunternehmen haben durch Investitionen in die afghanische Wirtschaft und Infrastruktur neue Perspektiven für den Wiederaufbau des Landes geschaffen. Beijing ist auch aufgrund seiner politischen Zurückhaltung und Rolle als regionale Wirtschaftsmacht ein wichtiger Partner der afghanischen Regierung. Trotz gemeinsamer Interessen an der Stabilität Afghanistans ist eine direkte Sicherheitskooperation zwischen den Nato-Staaten und China nicht zu erwarten. Denn China hat als unmittelbarer regionaler Akteur spezifische Sicherheitsinteressen, die es unabhängig und mit eigenen, bisweilen inkonsistenten Strategien verfolgt
