Abstract

Am 1. Juli übernahm Polen für ein halbes Jahr den Vorsitz im Rat der Europäischen Union (EU). In dieser Zeit möchte es dazu beitragen, dass sich die EU vom Krisenmanagement abkehrt und zur Schaffung von Prosperität und Sicherheit übergeht. Warschau ist sich der limitierten Möglichkeiten der Ratspräsidentschaft unter den Vorzeichen des Lissabon-Vertrags und der Verwerfungen in der Euro-Zone bewusst, hat aber gleichwohl beachtliche Ambitionen bekundet. Basierend auf einem Bekenntnis zu »mehr Europa« ist die aktuelle Ratspräsidentschaft auch im Kontext des wachsenden Anspruchs auf europapolitische Gestaltung zu sehen, den das erstarkende Polen geltend macht
