Solarstrom aus der Wüste: Sinnvoll und machbar?

Abstract

Die Idee, Deutschland und Europa mit Solarstrom aus der Wüste zu versorgen, bleibt kontrovers, gewinnt aber an Aufmerksamkeit in Politik und Wirtschaft. Das liegt daran, dass inzwischen mit dem Solarplan der EU und der südlichen Mittelmeerländer sowie mit der privatwirtschaftlichen Desertec-Initiative zwei Großprojekte lanciert worden sind. Trotz aller finanziellen, politischen und wirtschaftlichen Unsicherheiten sind diese Projekte weitgehend alternativlos. Gefragt sind nun klare politische Weichenstellungen auf deutscher und europäischer Ebene, um Anreize für die erfolgreiche Umsetzung zu schaffen - ohne sie werden die Projekte Vision bleiben
