Palästina bei den Vereinten Nationen: Optionen, Risiken und Chancen eines palästinensischen Antrags auf Vollmitgliedschaft und Anerkennung

Abstract

Im Herbst will die palästinensische Führung den Antrag stellen, Palästina als Vollmitglied der Vereinten Nationen (VN) aufzunehmen und als Staat anzuerkennen. Die Unterstützung des größten Teils der Staatengemeinschaft ist ihr dabei sicher - ebenso wie ein US-amerikanisches Veto im Sicherheitsrat, das eine Vollmitgliedschaft verhindern wird. Ungeachtet dieses absehbaren Ausgangs sollten Deutschland und seine Partner in der EU eine Zweistaatenregelung in Nahost weiterhin aktiv unterstützen. Insofern sollten sie auch den palästinensischen Staat geeint anerkennen und für seine VN-Mitgliedschaft votieren. Gleichzeitig gilt es die Chance zu nutzen, auf internationaler Ebene Parameter für eine Konfliktregelung zu verankern
