Europäische Autonomie im Weltraum: Satellitensysteme als Pfeiler europäischer Verteidigung

Abstract

Weltraumfähigkeiten gehören zu jedem modernen Verteidigungsarsenal. Doch die militärischen Weltraumfähigkeiten in Europa bestehen oft nur ansatzweise, und die Abhängigkeit von den USA ist groß. Europa muss eigene Fähigkeiten aufbauen, um Abhängigkeiten zu reduzieren, seine Handlungsfähigkeit zu vergrößern und so europäische Autonomie zu schaffen. Um den Aufbau eigener Weltraumfähigkeiten effizient zu gestalten, sollte ermittelt werden, welche Abhängigkeiten von den USA besonders schwerwiegend sind und welche Hürden einem europäischen Aufbau entgegenstehen. Den Fähigkeiten Weltraumlageerfassung, militärische Aufklärung, Navigationsresilienz und Raketenfrühwarnung sollte Priorität eingeräumt werden.
