Viel Lärm im maritimen Asien: China, die USA und die Herausforderungen einer neuen Sicherheitsarchitektur in Ostasien

Abstract

Die vermehrten Zwischenfälle und das Wiederaufleben militärischer Bedrohungsperzeptionen signalisieren einen Wandel der sicherheitspolitischen Situation im asiatisch-pazifischen Raum. Während die USA versuchen, sich in der Region neu zu positionieren,hat sich Beijing wiederholt zu militärischen Machtdemonstrationen hinreißen lassen, vor allem dann, wenn es seine territoriale Integrität gefährdet sah. Um dauerhafte Stabilität in der Region zu gewährleisten, ist eine neue Sicherheitsordnung auf Basis multilateraler Mechanismen notwendig. Diese kann nur gemeinsam von den USA und China gestaltet werden
