Extremisten nutzen das politische Vakuum in Kosovo

Abstract

Der Tod von zwei serbischen Jugendlichen am 13. August 2003, die von unbekannten Angreifern bei einem Badeausflug in der Nähe des Dorfes Goraždevac bei Peć mit Feuer aus Maschinengewehren ermordet wurden (vier weitere Jugendliche erlitten schwere Verletzungen), markiert den Beginn eines noch grausameren Abschnitts des Kampfes um Kosovo. Entsprechend müßten die Europäische Union und die USA ihre Bemühungen um eine dauerhafte friedliche Regelung für die Region kurzfristig verstärken. Anderenfalls könnte sich ein politisches Vakuum noch vergrößern, das extremistischen Kräften zusätzliche Handlungsmöglichkeiten verschafft. (SWP-aktuell / SWP)
