Abstract

Im autoritären Venezuela herrscht schon längst kein sozialer Frieden mehr. Die Frage ist, wie (lange) sich eine offene gewaltsame Auseinandersetzung zwischen Anhänger/innen und Gegner/innen des Regimes unter Einsatz der Streitkräfte noch verhindern lässt. Die Regierungen der Region (vor allem der großen Staaten Südamerikas) sollten entschieden auf eine politische Lösung drängen, bei der die Zulassung humanitärer Hilfe und die Abhaltung von Neuwahlen in Anwesenheit von Wahlbeobachter/innen eingeschlossen sind. Bei beiden Maßnahmen könnte die EU eine unterstützende Rolle spielen. (SWP-Aktuell)
