Klare Verhältnisse - klarer Reformauftrag: Innen- und außenpolitische Herausforderungen für die neue indische Regierung

Abstract

Entgegen allen Erwartungen erzielte die Regierung der United Progressive Alliance (UPA) unter der Führung der Kongresspartei bei den Wahlen zum 15. Parlament (Lok Sabha) eine klare politische Mehrheit. Die von der hindu-nationalistischen Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) geführte National Democratic Alliance (NDA) und die kommunistischen Parteien waren die Verlierer der Wahl. Mit dem klaren politischen Mandat steht die Kongresspartei jetzt noch stärker in der Verantwortung, den Prozess sozialer und wirtschaftspolitischer Reformen fortzuführen. Außenpolitisch wird sich das Augenmerk der neuen Regierung zunächst auf die regionalen Krisenherde in Pakistan, Sri Lanka und Nepal richten
